When we say we have experience, we mean it. Our family's been in the septic industry for four generations and we take great pride in what we do. It's our name and our reputation on the line. We've been providing residential and commercial septic and grease services throughout Central, Pa since 1955, but it wasn't always John Kline Septic Services. Take a trip down memory lane with us to see how it all got started.
THE EARLY YEARS
John’s grandfather, Marshall Kline, founded Kline’s Septic Service in 1955. The business initially operated from the family farm in Columbia, PA, with services including septic tank pumping, as shown in the vintage black-and-white photo. The business started with just one truck. Marshall and his wife, Dorothy, had three children, and after Marshall Sr. passed away, their son, Marshall Jr., purchased the septic company from Dorothy.
Marshall Jr. relocated the business to Salunga, PA where our shop is currently located today. Before expanding his farm and property on Holland Street where the business would be for many years, the first version of Kline's Septic operated from Harrisburg Pike where we do business today. Marshall Jr. went on to have three children, Dave, John and Marsha. All three would become part of the business one day.
THE NINETIES
During the 90's, John and his siblings, Dave and Marsha, grew the company from a medium-sized business to the region's leading septic and grease maintenance company, known as Kline's Services. Kline's Services remains an industry leader, but John sold his part of the company in 2011, along with his sister, Marsha. Shortly after becoming the sole owner, John's brother, Dave, sold the company to Wind River Environmental.
2012-PRESENT
The original "Kline's Services" is no longer family owned and that is why John decided to continue the Kline tradition with his own septic business in 2012, so he would have a company to pass on to his sons one day. Ironically we haven't moved far! Our truck shop and offices are now located on Harrisburg Pike in Mount Joy, Pa where the business once operated years ago. In 12 years we've expanded the services we offer as we've expanded our fleet of trucks and service vehicles, and we are excited for continued growth in 2024.
