Q: Can you still pump out my tank if it's snowing?

A: Yes. As long as we can access the manhole cover or main access point. It's also important to make sure your driveway is plowed so our trucks can get as close to your tank as possible.

Q: What should I do if my pump alarm is going off?

A: If your alarm is going off it's important to act quickly. Have the tank pumped within the next 1-2 days. And be sure to have the pump inspected to determine if the pump and/or floats need to be repaired or replaced. If you often have issues when there's heavy rain, it's a good idea to have your tank pumped before the winter months or spring thaw.

Q: Can you help if my toilet is clogged or not flushing?

A: Yes. We have all the equipment to unclog your toilet or the main drain line. We'll diagnose the problem to figure out exactly what is causing the clog. If you've been experiencing a repeated backup, we can use our camera technology to help diagnose the root of the problem. (And often times ROOTS are the problem!)

Q: Do you service York or Lebanon, Pa?

A: Yes. We offer septic service in York, Lebanon, Lancaster, Chester and Dauphin Counties. We also offer Commercial Septic and Grease Hauling Services throughout Central Pa and parts of Delaware. For more info on our commercial septic and grease services, click here.

Q: What should I do if my septic tank smells funny?

A: If it's been more than a few years since your tank has been pumped, a strong odor is a telltale sign that your tank is ready to be cleaned out. Call us today to schedule your next septic tank clean out and we'll complete an inspection to get rid of any bad smells.

Q: How long does it take to pump out a septic tank and do I need to be home for my service?

A: As long as the tank location is easily accessible or marked, you don't need to be home for your service. It usually takes us 30-40 minutes to get your tank pumped out. It can take us a little longer if we have to dig open your manhole cover or run into heavy solids.

Q: What is the grossest thing you've ever found in someone's septic tank?

A: This is a tough one. Probably dead rodents or bones. That was super gross!

Q: Do you pump out holding tanks or manure pits?

A: Yes and no. We DO pump out holding tanks and offer municipal waste hauling services. We DO NOT pump out manure pits.

Q: What is worse to clean out - septic tanks or grease tanks?

A: Depends. Septic tanks seem gross because most people only think of what you flush down the toilet - but they actually hold and filter ALL your wastewater from things like showers, baths, laundry, dishwashers etc. If you have your tank serviced regularly it's not too bad. Grease on the other hand can be REALLY gross and has a smell that's hard to wash out.

Q: How long have you been in business? Are you related to the other Kline's septic?

A: We've been in business as John Kline Septic Services since 2012. And we are related to the other Kline's - in fact, John was one of the owners of Kline's Services for many years. That business was founded by his grandfather, Marshall, and stayed in the family for many years until it was sold to current owners, Wind River Environmental.
