Four Generations of Lancaster, Pa Septic Service

65 Years and Counting

In 2012, following his career as Co-Owner and Vice President of Kline’s Services in Salunga, Pa, John Kline and his sons, Kyle and Keaton, established John Kline Septic Services to provide residential and commercial septic and grease services throughout Central, Pa. Since 2012, our business has grown from a three man team, to a small business of about 15 employees and counting. This isn't the first time John's grown a septic business - in fact, our family has been in the septic industry for 60+ years.

It was John’s grandfather, Marshall Kline, who established Kline’s Septic Service in 1955. The business was run from the family farm in Columbia, Pa. Services included septic tank pumping (as you can see below) and the business operated with one truck. Marshall and his wife, Dorothy, had three children, and their son, Marshall Jr. eventually purchased the septic company from Dorothy when Marshall Sr. passed away.

The original septic business was started by John's grandfather, Marshall Kline, in 1955.

Marshall Jr. brought the business to Salunga, Pa and before expanding his farm and property on Holland Street, the business operated at the Harrisburg Pike location where our shop is currently located. (Technically a Mount Joy address) During the 90's, John and his siblings Dave and Marsha grew the company from a medium-sized business to the region's leading septic and grease maintenance company, known as Kline's Services. Kline's Services remains an industry leader, but John sold his part of the company in 2011, along with his sister, Marsha. Shortly after becoming the sole owner, John's brother, Dave, sold the company to Wind River Environmental.

The original "Kline's Services" is no longer family owned and that is why John decided to continue the Kline tradition with his own septic business in 2012, so he would have a company to pass on to his sons one day. Ironically we haven't moved far! Our truck shop and offices are now located on Harrisburg Pike in Mount Joy, Pa where the business once operated years ago. In eight years we've grown quite a bit and can't wait to break ground on our new truck shop this spring!

We’ve got four generations of experience in the septic business so it’s our goal to maintain our reputation of professionalism, fair pricing and great service. We hope you enjoyed this trip down Memory Lane as much as we did! When it comes to septic systems, John Kline is more than just a name you can trust - in fact, there's a good chance that in his 40+ years in the industry, John Kline has personally scheduled or performed a septic pumping at your property.
